| Arch Bar and Lintel Replacement and Repair |
|
Brickwork around windows, doors and openings should be supported by arch bars and lintels which are generally made out of steel. Over a period of time these supports will have to be replaced due deterioration caused by rust.
It is important to repair this arch bars and lintels early to protect your property against further damage to the surrounding area e.g. windows and doors and walls.
If left unattended arch bar damage may result in structural cracks, brick work breaking and bulging and water penetration.
We recommend replacing the arch bars and lintels with hot-dipped galvanised or a stainless steel structures to ensure a stronger support for the long term.
Hot dip galvanised Galintel® steel lintels are 40% lighter than solid lintels with a higher strength to weight ratio. Their ribbed profile creates a superior bond with the mortar giving the brickwork, mortar and lintel a combination to form a beam with exceptional strength.
This takes away the worry about corroded lintels and cracked brickwork due to the generous galvanising layer protecting against further corrosion in the future.
